Privacy Policy
Kennedy Development Group, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Shooter mobile application (the “App”) and a related web portal (the “Portal”) that allows users to manage cloud sync data (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use the Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Personal Information You Provide
We may collect personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide, such as your email address. For example, you may provide an email address when creating an account, enabling cloud synchronization, logging into the Portal, contacting support, or receiving service-related communications.
If you subscribe to a paid feature (such as AI Spotter), we also store subscription metadata returned by our payment processor — for example, a customer identifier, subscription status, plan, and trial or renewal dates. We do not store your payment card number, CVV, or full billing details; those are submitted directly to and held by our payment processor (see Section 4).
If you connect an AI client to AI Spotter (see Section 2.1), we store the OAuth access and refresh tokens that identify that connection so the AI client can continue to authenticate. These tokens grant read-only access to your User Data and can be revoked at any time.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
1.2 User-Generated Data
The Service allows users to create and manage user-generated data such as firearm, ammunition, and ballistic profile information (“User Data”). User Data may be stored locally on your device and, if you enable cloud sync, stored in our systems so it can be backed up and accessed across devices and through the Portal.
1.3 Usage and Device Information
When you use the Service, we may collect certain information automatically, including:
- Device type, operating system, and version
- Device identifiers
- IP address
- App/Portal usage, diagnostics, and performance data
We use this information to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service.
1.4 Analytics
We may use third-party analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics) to help us understand how the App and/or Portal is used and to improve functionality.
These providers may collect usage and device information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not authorize them to use your information for their own advertising purposes.
1.5 Location Information
The App may use and store location information if you grant permission through your device settings. Location data is used only to support App features and improve functionality.
You can enable or disable location access at any time through your device’s operating system settings.
1.6 Cookies and Similar Technologies (Portal)
The Portal may use cookies or similar technologies to help the Portal function and to support security features such as authentication and session management. Some analytics providers may also use cookies to collect usage information.
When you check out, manage your subscription, or are redirected to our payment processor's hosted billing pages, that processor may also set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, parts of the Portal (such as login or account management features) may not function properly.
2. Cloud Sync, Portal Access, and Account Management
Cloud synchronization is optional. If you enable cloud sync, we store your User Data for the purpose of backup, synchronization, and making the data available to you across devices and within the Portal.
The Portal allows users to log in using their cloud sync credentials to:
- Edit firearms, ammunition, and related User Data
- Subscribe to and manage paid features (such as AI Spotter), including viewing billing status
- Connect, view, and disconnect AI clients authorized to access User Data through AI Spotter
- Delete their account and associated synced data
Account/Data Management URL: https://manage.shooterapp.net
If cloud sync is not enabled, User Data remains stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our systems.
2.1 AI Spotter (MCP Connectors)
AI Spotter is an optional, paid feature that lets you connect a third-party AI client — such as Anthropic's Claude or any other client that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — to your Portal account so the AI client can run ballistic calculations against your saved User Data on your behalf.
AI Spotter is strictly opt-in and user-initiated: nothing is sent to any AI client unless you (a) maintain an active AI Spotter subscription, (b) add our connector URL in the AI client's settings, and (c) approve the OAuth authorization request that opens when the connector first connects.
When you connect an AI client and the AI client subsequently makes a request, the following information may be sent to that AI client in response:
- Your saved firearm and ammunition profiles (names, specifications, ballistic coefficients, zero data, notes you have entered)
- The output of ballistic calculations the AI client requests (trajectory tables, shot solutions, stability results)
The following information is not sent to AI clients through AI Spotter: your email address, your password, your payment information, your subscription or billing details, or any other user's data.
AI Spotter is read-only. AI clients cannot create, modify, or delete your firearm or ammunition profiles through AI Spotter. All edits to your User Data continue to be made by you in the App or the Portal.
Once your User Data is sent to an AI client, that data is processed and may be retained, logged, or used by the AI client according to its own privacy policy and terms — not this one. We do not control how AI clients store, transmit, or use the User Data they receive. We do not use your User Data to train any AI model, and we do not authorize the AI client providers we list as supported to do so on our behalf; however, an AI client provider's own terms govern what they do with the data once they receive it. Before connecting an AI client, we encourage you to review that client's privacy policy.
You may disconnect an AI client at any time by removing the connector from that client's settings. You may also contact us to revoke an authorization on our end. When an authorization is revoked, the OAuth tokens for that connection are invalidated and will no longer grant access to your User Data.
2.2 Subscriptions and Billing
Paid features (such as AI Spotter) are billed through a third-party payment processor (currently Stripe). When you check out or manage billing, you are interacting with the payment processor's hosted pages. Your full payment information — for example, card number, CVV, and billing address — is collected by the payment processor directly and is not stored on our systems.
The payment processor returns to us only the information we need to provide the service: a customer identifier, subscription status, plan, trial or renewal dates, and similar metadata. We use this information to grant or revoke access to paid features, to handle support requests, and to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Enable optional cloud synchronization and Portal access
- Authenticate users, maintain sessions, and secure accounts
- Authorize and authenticate AI client connections to AI Spotter (OAuth) and deliver the User Data and calculation results those clients request
- Process subscription payments and provide access to paid features
- Respond to support requests and inquiries
- Communicate important service-related updates (e.g., account or security notices)
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse or fraud
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We share information only as described below:
- Service providers: We use third-party companies to help operate the Service. These currently include our hosting provider, our analytics provider (e.g., Google Analytics), and our payment processor (currently Stripe, which processes subscription payments and stores full payment information on our behalf). These providers may access information only to perform services for us and are obligated not to use it for other purposes.
- AI clients you connect (AI Spotter): If you opt into AI Spotter and authorize an AI client (for example, Anthropic's Claude), your saved firearm and ammunition profiles and the calculation results that client requests are transmitted to that AI client at your direction. Those AI clients are not our service providers; they are independent third parties acting on your behalf, and once your User Data is sent to them it is governed by their own privacy policies. You can disconnect an AI client at any time. See Section 2.1 for details.
- Legal compliance and protection: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or lawful request, or if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the Service, or the public.
- Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice where required before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Security
The security of your information is important to us. We strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we store.
AI Spotter authorizes AI clients using the OAuth 2.1 standard over HTTPS. Tokens issued to an AI client are scoped to read-only access to the authorizing user's User Data and can be revoked at any time.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. International Transfers
Your information may be transferred to — and maintained on — servers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ.
If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, you understand that we may transfer information to the United States and process it there.
7. Links to Third-Party Sites
The Service may contain links to third-party sites or services that are not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of every site you visit.
We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for users 18 years of age or older and is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us. If we become aware we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page (and/or within the App or Portal) and will be effective when posted.
Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the email address you have provided, through the Service, or by posting a prominent notice.
